Young Researcher Travel Grant

The organizers of FOCAPO and CPC have secured funds from the National Science Foundation and a number of US industries to support the participation of young researchers (graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and assistant or associate professors).

It is anticipated that about 30 graduate students/post-docs and 10 assistant/associate professors can be awarded travel grants. If the number of applicants exceeds the target, the selection will be made competitively. Priority will be given to young researchers making a presentation at FOCAPO and/or CPC.

The travel grant funds will cover a single room for four (4) nights of lodging at the conference hotel (Hilton San Antonio Hill Country) for the full FOCAPO/CPC conference. The award may also cover an additional travel stipend to help defray travel costs that will be determined after the conference. Note that should we receive a large number of applicants, winners may be asked to share with another travel grant winner. All applicants must stay for the full four nights (Sunday - Wednesday).

Application Procedure

Applicants need to submit their curriculum vitae along with their contributed paper submission ID number and title.

The contributed paper submission info & CV should be emailed to Iiro Harjunkoski at this email: iiro.harjunkoski@hitachienergy.com

The application must be made by November 1, 2022. The award winners will be notified by November 7, 2022. The FOCAPO/CPC conference manager will contact winners regarding housing details and handle housing reservations. A confirmation of your lodging will be sent upon completion.

The recipients MUST register for the conference by December 9, 2022.
